Podcast Show Notes: Fantasy Football

Title of Episode: 2025 Fantasy Football First Round Mock Draft!

How I Created the Podcast

I created this podcast since I study fantasy football ranking for fun! I know a lot about football and I am interested in how players rank and creating week by week predictions. This podcast is for my friends who like fantasy football, who want to place bets on fantasy and create the possible best team.

I interviewed Mr. Gary Michaels, an expert fan, to help the audience understand the rankings. I made lists of the best players and then created an outline for the podcast.

To begin, I drafted a script. I presented the possible questions to my guest for the interview. I reviewed multiple websites that list fantasy football rankings and used my own knowledge as well to create the rankings.

In the episode, I used ranking websites such as Fantasy Pros, NBC Sports, and CBS Sports. I also listened to the Spotify podcasts called Fantasy Footballers and Fantasy Life Show. I used social media for my research as well. See below for the best fantasy football websites!

Fantasy Pros

The Fantasy Pros website is used to interpret the specific tiers of players through the “overall” button on the website. Moreover, the fantasy pros website provides clear information on the rankings of players for the upcoming season. As the weeks go by, the website also shows weekly rankings. This allows me to find out if my predictions of the rankings are right or wrong. Of course, not every single ranking that I predict will be correct each week. For example, whenever it is halfway through the NFL season, I like to press the buttons on the fantasy pros website of “week”, “PPR”, and “overall.”

CBS Sports

I use the CBS sports link either on my phone app or the website to preview fantasy football. CBS Sports provides depth of information to read about the players in an understandable way. Additionally, CBS Sports presents the information in a user friendly way. It is easier for me to read the information rather than continuing to sweep through videos with closed captions. For example, whenever I like to search articles from google called “fantasy football mock draft”, I will find one of its platforms to look at the information through the CBS sports website.

Spotify

I often listen to Spotify to hear the opinions of fantasy football experts. The experts predict how each player will be ranked by performance in their matchups. For example, by searching podcasts named “fantasy football” in the Spotify platform, I find the ones that help me give the best tips for me to succeed with my league regardless of my projection. If I need to hear the fantasy football expert multiple times, I will either rewind the podcast or fast forward it. Furthermore, going backwards or forwards in time on the podcast allows specific evaluation. It is helpful for me to hear why experts think these players can shine the most throughout the season. Spotify is user friendly if its listeners miss information or have trouble hearing the experts.

How I Practice Self-Care and Maintain Mental Health

It is very important for college students to keep up with our self-care and mental health. One of the ways I do this is through exercise which is one of the most important principles of life for me.

Cardio Boxing

Throughout my boxing routine, it is completed within a class as it usually benefits my ability to lose weight. Particularly, a group cardio boxing class is my main workout. I enjoy having instructors ask me and the group what to do. Technically, the instructor in my group boxing cardio class tells me whether I need to be at the boxing or weight lifting bench station depending on where I started. Switching things up makes it fun and easy to pay attention and not miss any instruction.

Gym Fitness Cardio Centers

I like going to the gym at Rutgers, it’s social and I am able to complete a workout! I keep track of how long I am doing this specific cardio gym machine to find out if it is enough endurance for me. I work on building my endurance either with or without class cardio workouts. I keep my number of minutes per exercise different in which I always like to do them for 30 or over minutes. I like to change my individual cardio gym routine between bike, treadmill, elliptical, or steps.

Walking Workout

Either at home in Westfield or on campus, walking helps me stay stress free as it is one of my key routines for when I workout. Moreover, I really enjoy listening to music with my headphones throughout my walking exercise routines because it is a good sign for me to keep my brain checked in. Obviously, walking is the best stress free method for me because I really enjoy going outside for fresh air.

Outdoor Running

I ran winter and spring track for all 4 years of high school.  I can always go for a run to recharge and feel great. Whenever I go for runs outdoors, I use either a map, my run app or my watch to keep track of the minutes and miles I run whenever I run individually. Additionally, both the map my run app and watch really help me balance my weight for when I complete my outdoor jogging exercise task. Alternatively, I like to go for outdoor runs whenever the temperature is mild.

Weight Lifting

Weight lifting is great for making my arms stronger and muscular. Alternatively, I like to increase the size of the weight per weight lifting workout routine. For example, whenever I do the bicep curls with dumbbells, I like to change the size from 30 to 35. To illustrate this point, 30 and 35 size are my strengths when using dumbbells. I hope to do a 40 size dumbbell of bicep curls one day.

Time Management

I try to make sure I have enough time to complete my tasks which are influenced by what I need to get done. Moreover, I set plans for myself with how I am going to play out how much time I will spend on each specific task of my to-do list. For example, whenever I set a routine plan of working out on my to-do-list, I want to make sure I have an efficient amount of homework or studying done in order to save enough time for me to go to the gym. Obviously, both homework and workout plans for a to-do list are a very big benefit for my time management whenever I do not have other activities.

Screencast, Fantasy Football

The main purpose of my screencast is to teach the audience about NFL fantasy QB prediction rankings. The rankings are important when preparing for the 2025 season so that the audience can build a better fantasy team no matter the score prediction. Furthermore, this screencast benefits people because they find it very interesting to evaluate on the specific principles of why they think each interpretation of QB ranking could happen. Based on my rankings, fantasy participants can earn points and even money! I hope you enjoy my screencast!

Inspirational Quotes that I Live By

Quotes from famous professional sports players and head coaches

Jerry Rice Quote

An inspirational quote that I live by is a quote from a former NFL wide receiver named Jerry Rice in which he states, “Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can do what others can’t.” The key phrase “I will do” is used because it indicates that all humans should focus on goals for themselves and not focus on what other people are able to get done. This inspirational quote inspires me to work hard so I can accomplish my goals. It also inspires me to achieve goals that others may think are not achievable for me. I have to work harder than most to achieve my goals but I am willing to do it.

One way this inspirational quote impacts my life is through achieving my goals through checklists. I break down individual tasks for what I want to accomplish by creating a checklist either on paper or my online notes app. Additionally, a checklist is a very significant object for humans to use whenever they are getting things done with their tasks and they do not focus on other peoples task checklists.

For example, getting a task done by completing exercise five days a week is a good goal to set for yourself but not all other people can achieve this goal especially that humans have different work out schedules. However, not all humans achieve the same tasks that others do as we have different abilities to influence ourselves. Therefore, getting tasks done is an individual job of accomplishment throughout the course of responsibilities.

Michael Jordan Quote

I live by the quote in which the greatest NBA player of all time named Michael Jordan says, “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” The key phrase “teamwork and intelligence” is used to show that when an NBA team works with one another, they discuss what they should do in order to be at a very high level. In contrast, it is an NBA athlete’s individual job to take control of their own skills for how they will succeed on the court for themselves while taking individual interpretations of what they need to get done through both individual and team practices.

I am inspired by NBA players and their focus and communication.  As NBA players communicate with one another about what to do with their game plans, they focus on how the team can show its ability to score a lot of points, win a lot of games, and show that they are on a very elite level. This motivates me to stay focused and try to improve my communication with others as well. In order to be on an elite level of the NBA, the team must practice a lot even when they can practice at their own time and prove to the coach successfully that they are ready for practice before games. This inspires me to practice my instrument so I am a key player in the band! Furthermore, after an NBA team plays at an elite level in a game throughout matchups against powerhouse teams and bad teams, the coach will say, “you guys communicate really well, you guys practice really well, I really like how we replicate our successful practice into real games a lot, we are the real deal.” To summarize, I aspire myself to communicate well with others, practice hard and be the real deal with my own goals.

Tom Landry Quote

I live by the quote in which a former NFL head coach named Tom Landry mentions, “Leadership is a matter of having people look at you and gain confidence, seeing how you react. If you’re in control, they’re in control.” The key phrase “gain confidence” is used because it represents that it is a head coach’s responsibility to take control of all players on their team to verify if they are confidently doing their part or showing lack of communication in the NFL. Even though I have obstacles to overcome, I try to act confidently and with power. If I believe that I am confident and with power, I will be able to succeed with my objectives.

Moreover, if an NFL head coach notices that all of the players are doing their part as a complete team, it is very likely that the advantages of communication will lead to team success on the field. This is the way we practice at the Marching Scarlet Knights and Pep Band. Specifically, our team leaders look for confidence and control which are the key factors of practice.  Additionally, as an NFL head coach is presenting a film with its players to watch and study plays before a game, the leadership will replicate onto the turf in order to succeed and use the tools to win. However, not all teams can win a game after watching a film even though all teams watch films before they have their matchups. Particularly, NFL head coaches must evaluate how the players do in practice throughout their process of watching practice films as they come up with current improvement designs for their players to work on. To illustrate this point, practice is very important to prepare for a football game and all NFL athletes must interpret their skills as they pay attention to what the head coach asks them to do on the field.

Hello, my Name is Samuel Sherman

Trombone

Music is very important to me! This image of the trombone is part of my past, present and future. I currently play the trombone in the Rutgers Pep Band, the Marching Scarlet Knights and Rutgers Concert Band. The trombone is my hobby and also may be part of my professional future too. I played the trombone since 4th grade, throughout middle school and high school in jazz bands, symphonic bands and state champion Wind Ensemble. I hope to play gigs with the trombone in the future, and I am a music minor at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts.

Piano

The piano image shows my music experience since it was my first instrument. I studied piano from third grade to senior year of high school. Specifically, the piano really helped me understand the process of learning how to read the notes of treble clef and bass clef. This music experience started by following how the lines and spaces are studied in music pieces. Therefore, starting with the piano really helped me learn how to read music successfully.

NFL Logo

The NFL logo image is displayed since it is my most favorite sport to watch, and is the most popular sport in America. In the NFL, I am very interested in interpreting whether or not players can replicate their college career days when it comes to both the offense and the defense that played at really good college football programs. I am skilled with score predictions and statistics and hope to somehow use the skill in the future. Moreover, the NFL makes it very easy for me to break down why experts think each team can win or lose their individual week per matchup. The NFL makes me so happy because I really like to pay attention to the evaluation of how quarterbacks will fare throughout their careers based on if they will stay on short-term or long-term with each team depending on if the takeaways are positive or negative from how they performed in their matchup. Basically, the most important principle of the NFL is finding out if it is necessary for a team to go through a rebuild process per offseason depending on if their organization is a mess. For instance, an organization of the NFL is required to focus on whether it needs a better offense or defense because it must show if it can have a bright future and put the bad past behind them.

Macy’s Parade 2023

According to the picture of me at Macy’s parade back in 2023 with the Rutgers University marching band, it became a huge memorable performance moment for me in my life as it was a huge once in a lifetime thing. To this point, I was very happy that the Rutgers University marching band 2023 Macy’s Parade was watched by a million viewers that really enjoyed seeing our huge marching band on TV. Furthermore, I was super proud of myself for becoming famous after I was seen on TV at Macy’s Parade in 2023 which was the greatest moment of my life that made my family and friends very proud of me.

Rutgers Football Homecoming 2022

Based on the picture of me and Sir Henry in the stands at SHI Stadium back in my freshmen year at Rutgers from homecoming 2022, it indicates that me and him began to become really good friends and he is my most favorite mascot of all time. Sir Henry is my favorite mascot of all time because he really gives people very high energy when they cheer on Rutgers at their home sporting events. Sir Henry really enjoys going into the stands at the football games and all sports and I have experienced that throughout my career at Rutgers and even before I came to Rutgers.

Bands of America (Rutgers)

The picture of me and my baritone in a Rutgers marching band uniform shows a flashback of when I participated in a Bands of America regional event after warmups before taking the real show to action from freshmen year of Rutgers. To this point, it shows me and the Rutgers marching band walking to the SHI Stadium field before the high school bands were fully finished with their prelims.

High School Spring Track

The picture of me running on my high schools’s track team displays a memory of my senior spring track season back in 2022. Additionally, this picture has a memory of me being a sprinter as a senior in high school at a track meet that took place at our home stadium named “Gary Kehler Stadium” in Westfield, NJ.

High School Marching Band

This picture of me in a high school marching band competition indicates a moment from when I played baritone throughout sophomore year of high school. Moreover, this is an image of me in a marching band competition at East Brunswick High School from sophomore year of Westfield, NJ High School back in 2019.

Jazz Band Performance (High school)

Based on the jazz band performance that I did back as a senior in high school, the picture shows me performing on the trombone at a breakfast with the bands event. Specifically, this picture was of me in my high school’s Jazz 1 Band Group.
